Creamy Honey Mustard Dressing Creamy Honey Mustard Dressing
I am big on salads and maybe even bigger on homemade dressings. And it's every bit as much about flavor as health. Well, maybe slightly more...There's something about a homemade dressing made with a few thoughtfully combined ingredients, and without the texture and flavor muck that results from a certain industrial cocktail of gums and stabilizers, that allows the ingredients of your salad to sing. And it really will get you looking forward to eating raw veg, which is so good for your bod.(I do sometimes use a teeny, tiny bit of xanthan gum to emulsify, but not enough to affect the experience of the dressing. A topic for another post, however...)This Creamy Honey Mustard Dressing is a favorite in our house, and even my mustard hating Firstborn likes it. :) x -
Salad with Strawberry Dressing Served in a Noodle Basket Salad with Strawberry Dressing Served in a Noodle Basket
I made this recipe using a photo in an American magazine as reference. Strawberry dressing is sold in cans, but every brand I've tried has too much balsamic vinegar for my taste, killing the flavor of the strawberries. So I made a dressing with the proportions I like. It's an easy yet really delicious dressing that I'm very proud of.Choose a flat pasta-type like linguine or fettuccine for the noodle basket. Drain the boiled pasta very well, and then stick onto the surface of a bowl. Don't rinse the pasta or it will not stick. Don't forget to brush the surface of the bowl with oil. If you want the dressing to be richer, add olive oil. I recommend young baby spinach leaves. For 2 servings. Recipe by Yukirinrin cookpad.japan -
Strawberry Spinach Salad with Soy Worcestershire Dressing Strawberry Spinach Salad with Soy Worcestershire Dressing
This is a kid favorite salad in our house as well as a crowd pleaser for picnics, BBQs, and potlucks for the tasty mashup of fruit, veg, and sweet savory tangy dressing.I'm making it for Thanksgiving this year to make sure my teenaged son gets plenty of veg with that side of bacon he asked for . ;)Here in California, we get strawberries pretty much year round, though they tend to be better in Spring. If it's not strawberry season where you live, a mildly tart apple or firm pear cut into small chunks are both great substitutes. x -
