Gabin Cake - Milk Cheese Custard

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Combine all the ingredients to make the milk custard: all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla powder, salt, egg yolk, and water. Mix well until smooth.
- 2
Cook the milk custard mixture in a non-stick pan over medium heat, stirring until it thickens. Once thickened, add the butter and cook until the custard is smooth and elastic.
- 3
Cool the cooked custard. Once cooled, take one cracker and spread the milk custard on top. Smooth it out, then sprinkle with cheese (if you don't like it salty, you can skip the cheese or reduce the salt). Cover with another cracker and repeat until all the custard is used.
- 4
Dip the prepared cake into the egg white, especially on each side. Heat cooking oil over medium heat, then fry the cake until golden brown.
- 5
Note: Do not cut while still hot, as the crackers will crumble. Serve chilled (store in the refrigerator) for better taste.

Lemon Custard Cake Lemon Custard Cake
This recipe has been around for a long time. I have read it originated in Rome. It has many names, custard cake, three layer cake, flan cake and magic cake to name a few. Its a simple batter that cooks in a low oven to form 3 layers. There are many flavors but the batter is basically the same. It is important to use the pan size called for, it does not double well. Make 2 if you want more servings. It is an amazing custard topped moist and refreshing with the lemon flavor in this one. Serve with berries and whipped cream for a delicious dessert. Give the cake cooling and chilling time, its best chilled overnight fenway -

Filipino Food Series: Baguio’s Good Shepherds Ube Halaya Custard Cake (Purple Yam Custard Cake) Filipino Food Series: Baguio’s Good Shepherds Ube Halaya Custard Cake (Purple Yam Custard Cake)
Trivia: Ube halaya or halayang ube is a Philippine dessert made from boiled and mashed purple yam. Good Shepherds in Baguio, Northern Luzon part of the Philippines, makes the best Ube Halaya! You can use it for pastries and cake flavours. This is my first time to do frosting and rosette swirls :). some wants the custard on top of the cake, but in this recipe I want to make use of the Ube Halaya as frosting so I put the custard sandwiched between the cake 😊.used hand whiskers here. (Took me 30 minutes to come up with sturdy peaks 😜) #purpleyamcake #ubehalaya #filipinofoodseries #asiancuisine Ynielle’s Kitchen Diaries -
