Key Lime Pie

Use only Key Lime juice. It just doesn't taste right with regular Lime Juice.
Cooking Instructions

Set oven to 360f

Beat egg yolks and then stir into the milk.

Add the lime zest and stir in the lime juice.

Pour into the pie tin with crust and bake at 360 f for 25 minutes.

Cool to room temperature and refrigerate. Serve with whipped cream.

Now they are hard to get so I use regular limes fresh juice is really the best flavor with either lime! Nothing says summer like the light citrus flavor of key lime pie! As we are quickly blowing through the summer season it occurred to me, I had not made a key lime pie all season. With thirty minutes to spare and not a single key lime in the house... I pulled together this delicious, gorgeous pie. The meringue is optional but gives such an improvement to the look of an otherwise lifeless looking pie. Also, I do not use food coloring (what's in that stuff anyway) but if synthetic and complicated chemical names are your thing you can green your pie up as you see fit. Regardless of pie color and meringue, this pie is a silky citrus filled treat for any occasion. I hope you enjoy.
