Wonky Autumn Apple & Plum Crumble (GF and DF) 🍏🍎

Here is my version of Gillies plum crumble, with added apples and a #glutenfree and #dairyfree crumble. I added more sugar to the fruit to balance the tartness of the cooking apples. This is a super way to use up windfall garden apples, pears, plums and any other fruits you have available. #wonkyautumn

I was making lasagne today and asked my husband to soak the pasta sheets for me. He did the whole box which left me half that I didn't need! I've seen a recipe for a chocolate dessert lasagne on here that triggered my imagination and though I could try a 'cannelloni' crumble with the apples left in the fruit bowl that nobody was eating. It was actually really great! Vicky@Jacks Free-From Cookbook -

Apple Crumble Apple Crumble
This recipe was written up for the British Embassy's campaign, "A Taste of Britain" For more information, see the Facebook page www.facebook.com/oishii.igirisuIt's also delicious when made with European pears, cherries, plums, or rhubarb. Bramley apples are the best, but any tart red apples are good. It's standard to cover crumble in hot and thick custard but I also recommend that you try "Whisky Ice Cream",. The kids asked for sweet potato pie but I didn't have enough ingredients to make the pastry for it. I do have a crustless version but instead I decided to use up the flour that I did have on hand and make a sweet potato crumble with it. Instead of the crumble topping you could use crushed up cornflakes for a lovely crunchy topping Vicky@Jacks Free-From Cookbook -

Straight from a British Home! Easy Apple Crumble Straight from a British Home! Easy Apple Crumble
Apple crumble is usually made alongside dinner as a dessert rather than a stand alone snack. When I did a homestay in Britain I learnt how different British cooking is to Japanese cooking. I thought the simplicity of British cooking was wonderful and had my homestay family teach me this recipe.Crumble is very sweet so it's fine if your apples are sour If the apples you are using are sweet then squeeze some lemon juice over them in Step 3. You can make the crumble in a plastic bag rather than a bowl. British people usually eat apple crumble with some hot custard, but it tastes delicious with ice cream too.
