Ingredients

40-50 minutes
4-5 servings
  1. 1/2 cupMoong Dal
  2. 1small onion quartered
  3. 1 TspGinger garlic paste
  4. 1/2 TspTurmeric powder or fresh turmeric paste
  5. 1 TspMustard oil/ any veg oil
  6. as per taste Salt
  7. Vegetables
  8. 1Small carrot
  9. as required Few French Beans
  10. as required Small piece Of lauki/ bottle gourd (you can add raw papaya too)
  11. as neededFew Drumsticks / Sahjan / Data
  12. Tempering
  13. as required Little Cumin and mustard seeds
  14. 1Whole dry Chilli
  15. 1 tbspGhee

Cooking Instructions

40-50 minutes

    Prepare all the vegetables as listed above. Wash the Dal thoroughly. In a kadai / pot add everything with enough water to boil and cook the Dal along with the vegetables. Add hot water in between the cooking process as needed.

    Once the Dal is cooked, heat ghee in a Tempering pan, once heated add the whole dry Chilli, Cummin and mustard seeds, once the seeds starts crackling add it into the Dal and close the kadai for few minutes. Serve hot with steaming hot rice along with a dollop of ghee.
