Spinach and Mushroom with Shiro-dashi and Wasabi

This is also tasty made using frozen spinach and frozen mixed mushrooms.

I used white beech mushrooms, but you could also use shimeji, king oyster mushrooms, shiitake, or maitake mushrooms.

I came up with this delicious and nutritious dish that could be easily made in the microwave.
I also like dishes that can be made with frozen ingredients.

This is so easy, there's nothing much too it, but I recommend removing excess moisture for best results.

You could also use komatsuna or cabbage in place of spinach.

Since this doesn't use any oil, it's perfect for dieting. Preparing this in advance will allow the flavors to absorb, making it even tastier. Recipe by Melty rose

Ingredients

2 servings
  1. 1/2 bunchSpinach
  2. 1/2 bagYour choice of mushrooms (I used white beech mushrooms)
  3. 2 tspShiro-dashi
  4. 1dab Wasabi
  5. For bento:
  6. 1Ground sesame seeds
  7. 1 pinchto sprinkle as a bed Bonito flakes

Cooking Instructions

    Rinse the spinach, drain excess water, then chop into bite-sized pieces. Chop off the stem ends of the mushrooms, then shred into bite-sized pieces.

    Place the spinach in a heat-resistant dish, then microwave for 2 minutes at 500 W. Soak in water to remove bitterness, then drain excess water.

    Microwave the mushrooms for 2 minutes, then blot away excess moisture with a paper towel, if necessary.

    While it is still hot, add the seasonings, then mix.

  5. 5

    Transfer to a dish, and it's ready to serve.
