Cooking Instructions

Wash rice and udaddal saperately.
Add fenugreek seeds to dal.
Soak both saperately for 5 hours. - 2
Grind dal finely.
Grind rice coarsely.
Mix it properly and keep batter for fermentation for 8 hrs or overnight. - 3
Add salt to fermented batter and make idli in idli mould. Steam it for 10-15 minutes. Soft n fluffy Idlis will be ready.

For making Sambar cook dal in cooker for 4 whistles.

Add oil to pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, whole red chillies, curry leaves, chopped onion
Stir it well.
Then add chopped tomato, potato, turmeric powder.
Stir it, then add Sambar powder, red chilli powder and salt to it. - 6
Add cooked dal and then add some water to adjust consistency.
Add tamarind water and let it boil for 7-10 minutes. Sambar is ready - 7
Serve hot soft and fluffy Idli with piping hot Sambar.
