But how relaxing is it to make cookies at home with the little helper? We like it so much; this time it was the butter biscuits (recipe taken from my new book "Christmas Sweets") to which I made some small changes and covered some with chocolate, others with cinnamon powder and others with cane sugar 😀 Simple and quick to to prepare, butter biscuits are excellent for breakfast or as a snack, they can be kept for a few days in a tin box 😉

Ingredients

15 min + 30 min
40 cookies
  1. 250 gflour 00
  2. 140 gbutter
  3. 100 ggranulated sugar
  4. 1medium egg
  5. 1vanillin sachet
  6. juice of half a lemon
  7. Chocolate
  8. Brown sugar
  9. cinnamon powder

Cooking Instructions

15 min + 30 min
  1. 1

Put the flour, sugar and butter into small pieces in the bowl of the mixer and start working with the flat beater at low speed; while the whisk is working, add the egg, vanilla and the juice of half a lemon and mix until a homogeneous and compact mixture is obtained (a couple of minutes are enough).

  2. 2

Form a loaf and wrap it in cling film and leave to rest in the fridge for at least 30 minutes. *

  3. 3

If, on the other hand, you prefer to prepare the dough by hand it is just as quick and simple; arrange the sifted flour in a heap, add the flaked butter and sugar, put the egg, vanilla and lemon juice in the center. Work quickly until you get a homogeneous and compact dough, wrap it in a sheet of cling film and place in the fridge for at least 30 minutes. *

  4. 4

Preheat the oven to 175 ° C and in the meantime roll out the dough to a thickness of about half a centimeter (I help myself by putting the dough between 2 sheets of lightly floured baking paper, one of these then I reuse it to bake the biscuits), form the biscuits and, if you like, you can sprinkle ground cinnamon on some, some brown sugar.

  5. 5

Cooking: Preheated ventilated oven at 175 ° C for about 10 - 12 minutes (they must not darken). Since each oven can vary according to its characteristics, the advice is to set a shorter cooking time and then add more minutes, if necessary to complete the cooking.

  6. 6

As a general rule, the oven should be preheated only if the static function is used, but in this case it can also be done with the ventilated function, since the final result is not compromised.

  7. 7

Allow the butter biscuits to cool completely; if you decide to cover them with chocolate, melt this in a double boiler or in the microwave, then dip the butter biscuits in the chocolate and leave to harden by placing them on a grate (put a sheet or a napkin under the grate for any chocolate chips).

Hi everyone! My name is Tiziana, I am 34 years old and I am the mother 1 little girl who give me a lot to do; I work outside the home and it goes without saying that I love to cook; it's the only thing that relaxes me in my hectic days. I am Sicilian, but I have lived in Belgium for 5 years. First a year of maternity then the job crisis, they forced me at home for almost 2 and a half years, and so having a lot of time available, I dedicated myself a lot to cooking, I prepared practically everything in home. Married very young, I learned to cook by myself, a little from books, a little from mistakes, and some advice here and there between mother and mother-in-law, they brought me this far and I am very happy to have had this experience that I he introduced some wonderful people. I cook mostly for my family and friends; I love leavened products, especially savory ones; finger food, snacks and various rustic dishes; I am a traditionalist, even if every now and then I make variations to traditional dishes to adapt them to our tastes. For the most part, simple and quick recipes of a mother who is always in a hurry, but who does not give up on taste. 🙂 I hope to please you in sharing my recipes and that you like them; I apologize for the photos, but I'm not really capable 🙂
