Pan-Fried Spring Cabbage with Garlic

I wanted to enjoy the flavor of spring cabbage. I've been making this for more than 10 years, whenever spring cabbage was in season. I used to use butter for this, but these days I use healthier olive oil.

This is also delicious stir-fried in butter instead of olive oil. Adjust the stir-frying time to taste! For 4 servings. Recipe by Cha-miru

Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 1/2Spring cabbage
  2. 1 cloveGarlic
  3. 1 tbspOlive oil
  4. 1 tbspSoy sauce
  5. 1Coarsely ground black pepper

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Cut the cabbage into 4 wedges. Secure the wedges with toothpicks in about 2 places per wedge so that the leaves don't fall off. Wash and drain off the excess water from the wedges.

  2. 2

Heat a pan, add olive oil and garlic, and stir-fry over low heat.

  3. 3

Put in the cabbage wedges, and fry over medium-high heat.

  4. 4

Brown both sides of the wedges. Drizzle soy sauce to finish.

  5. 5

Transfer to serving plates, take out the toothpicks, add plenty of black pepper and enjoy.
