Ingredients

10 servings
  1. 3 cupsflour
  2. 1/4 cupsugar
  3. 2 teaspoonsactive dry yeast
  4. 1/2 teaspoonsalt
  5. 1/4 teaspoonnutmeg (Optional)
  6. 1/4 cupmelted butter
  7. 1 cupwarm milk
  8. 2eggs

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Combine the Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, active dry yeast, salt, and nutmeg until well combined.

  2. 2

    Add the Wet Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, warm milk, and eggs until well combined.

  3. 3

Combine the Wet and Dry Ingredients
Slowly pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring constantly until a dough forms. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth.

  4. 4

    Let the Dough Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with a damp cloth. Let it rise like Olumo Rock in a warm place for about an hour or until it doubles in size. Lol

  5. 5

    Cut and Shape the Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out onto a floured surface. Use a doughnut cutter or a round cookie cutter to cut out the doughnuts. You can also cut them into any shape...same taste different shape. Place them on a floured surface and let them rise for another 15-20 minutes.

  6. 6

    Fry the Doughnuts
Heat oil in a deep frying pan to 375°F (190°C). Gently place the doughnuts into the hot oil and fry until they are golden brown, about 1-2 minutes per side. Once they are done, remove them from the oil using a slotted spoon and let them drain on a paper towel.

  7. 7

    Add Toppings
You can add toppings such as powdered sugar, glaze, or chocolate to your doughnuts.

  8. 8

    Serve and Enjoy

Serve the doughnuts while they are still warm and enjoy your fluffy Nigerian style doughnuts!
