Ham Cutlets with Cheese

I happened to have 4 slices of ham left and I figured out this recipe to use them up.
They are thin so they're easy to put in the lunch box but are quite substantial.

Seal the edges tightly so as not to let the cheese seep out while shallow-frying.
You don't need to cook it through that thoroughly because all the ingredients can be eaten as they are. Fry quickly until golden crispy over a high heat.

You don't need worry about the lumps in the egg mixture. No pressure at all. For 2 servings. Recipe by Makuma-

Ingredients

2 servings
  1. 4 sliceHam
  2. 1 sliceSliced cheese (non-easy melting type)
  3. 1half Spring onions (chopped)
  4. 1Black pepper
  5. The coating:
  6. 1◆Egg (Medium)
  7. 1 tbsp◆Flour (plain flour)
  8. 1 tsp◆Water
  9. 1Panko

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

These are the ingredients. Quarter the cheese. You don't need this much chopped spring onion.

  2. 2

Place the cut cheese on a slice of ham. Sprinkle on black pepper and top with chopped spring onion.

  3. 3

Put another piece of cheese on top.

  4. 4

Place another slice of ham on top and press tightly, especially around the edge. Make two of these.

  5. 5

Mix a beaten egg, flour and water together. After mixing in a bowl, I transferred it to a flat plate because it is easier to handle.

  6. 6

After dipping the prepared ham in the egg and flour mixture, coat with panko. Press tightly around the edges. Shallow-fry in oil until both sides are golden crisp.

  7. 7

Drain off the excess oil on a rack. Cut in half. All done.

  8. 8

Nice for your lunch. I stir-fried some carrots with the left-over egg mixture and spring onions.
