When I was a kid having cinnamon rolls meant these, not Cinnabons.

Ingredients

12 minutes
4-8 servings
  1. 1 3/4 cupsflour
  2. 4 teaspoonsbaking powder
  3. 1/2 teaspoonsalt
  4. 1/2 teaspooncream of tarter
  5. 1/3 cupbutter or shortening (preference)
  6. 3/4buttermilk
  7. Melted butter
  8. Cinnamon and sugar mix

Cooking Instructions

    Combine all dry ingredients and sift with a fork.

    Cut shortening into mix.

  3. 3

    Add buttermilk. Stir into a dough. If dough is not kneadable, add small amounts of flour till it forms a kneadable ball. Knead dough 20 times.

    Roll dough to about 1 inch thick.

    Brush flat dough with butter and sprinkle cinnamon and sugar over the butter.

    Roll dough into a log.

  7. 7

    Cut log into pinwheels. Place on a greased baking sheet.

    Bake at 450 Fahrenheit for 12 minutes.
