Ingredients

  1. 1 lbDry Pinto Beans
  2. 1Large Onion, Chopped
  3. 3 TbspOil or Lard. I use peanut oil
  4. 1 SpoonMinced Garlic
  5. 1-2 TspSalt
  6. 1 TspCumin
  7. 1/2 TspOregano

Cooking Instructions

    Cook Beans, Onion and Salt together. Once tender, or nearly so, let the water simmer down until the beans are no longer covered.

    In a separate skillet, add the oil/lard. Add garlic, cook until it begins to brown

  3. 3

    Add the oil and remaining spices to the beans. Smash the beans, adding water for consistency. Add salt or spices to taste. I use an immersion blender once the potato masher gets it started.
