Cooking Instructions
- 1
Here are today's ingredients.
- 2
Slice the pork tenderloin into 1/2-inch thick pieces.
- 3
Place the pork in a plastic bag, add enough potato starch, seal the bag, and shake well to coat the pork evenly.
- 4
Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat, arrange the pork pieces, and cook. Do not touch the meat at this point, or the coating will come off.
- 5
After 3 minutes, the edges will turn white and start to sweat. Flip the pieces over.
- 6
Cook the other side for 1-2 minutes. Again, do not touch the meat.
- 7
Pour in the ponzu sauce and let it simmer. Do not leave it unattended. Once most of the liquid has evaporated, turn off the heat.
- 8
Serve on a plate, and it's ready to enjoy.

This is a dish I make often when I'm busy and don't have much time to cook. It's a life-saver in our house. There's really no need to measure out the ingredients, since the flavor doesn't change that much if you vary the amount. Just eyeball things and you'll be fine! The sourness varies depending on how long you cook the pork after you add the ponzu sauce, so if you don't like sour food, cook it for a bit longer. Tofu with Mushrooms and Ponzu Sauce Tofu with Mushrooms and Ponzu Sauce
I love ponzu. I put ponzu sauce on hiyayakko chilled tofu or fried eggs. I adapted a recipe I saw once in a cookbook. My hubby likes simpler flavorings like soy sauce on his tofu so I always just make this for myself.Work quickly after you add the ponzu sauce! Otherwise the ponzu will evaporate. If you microwave the tofu to get rid of the excess water, it will also become nice and warm - recommended for winter. For 2 servings.
