I had the three title ingredients all in my fridge needing to be used up. I wasn't sure what I was going to make, but as I went along this is what developed and it's mighty tasty.

  1. 1/2 headNapa cabbage
  2. 1small bok choy
  3. 4 slicesthick cut bacon
  4. 1 tbssoy sauce
  5. 1 tbshoisin sauce
  6. 2 tsphoney
  7. 1 tspginger paste (or finely minced fresh ginger)
  8. 1 tspsesame oil
  9. 1 pinchcrushed red pepper flakes

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

In a small bowl wisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, ginger, sesame oil, and pepper flakes. Set aside.

  2. 2

Cut bacon to 1/4"strips. Cut green portions of cabbage and bok choy from the white portions. Slice whites into 1/4" pieces, greens into 1/2" pieces. Set green pieces aside for later.

  3. 3

Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Cook bacon until crisp and fat has rendered. Remove bacon to a paper towel lined plate leaving fat behind in skillet.

Add whites of cabbage and bok choy to skillet. Cook until just tender, stirring frequently. About 5-7 minutes.

  5. 5

Return bacon to skillet. Add greens and sauce. Stir to combine. Cook just until greens wilt and sauce heats through. About 2 minutes.

  6. 6

Serve as-is for a delicious side or over rice as a main dish. Enjoy!

Cooking is a hobby and a passion of mine. I love cooking and trying new and different things. The best thing about cooking? I get to prepare delicious food for my family and friends that they (almost) always love! Lol.Many of my recipes are experiments in what I could make with what was available at the time. Many are simply my version of classic and/or popular dishes. A few are variations of recipes I have found elsewhere online but adjusted to our tastes. No matter what, though, each of my recipes is tried and tested before posting and I hope you find as much joy in preparing them as I do.
