Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 2 tbspoil
  2. 1/2 tspdry mustard
  3. 1 tbspchana daal
  4. 1 tbspurad daal
  5. 1 pinchasafoetida
  6. 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  7. 1chopped onion
  8. 3chopped green chilly
  9. 1 tspgrated ginger
  10. 1/2 cupchopped tomatoes
  11. 2 1/2 cupwater
  12. 1 tbspchopped coriander leaves
  13. 1salt to taste
  14. 1 1/2 cupvermicelli
  15. 1 tbspcashew

Cooking Instructions

    Heat 1 tsp of the Oil in a pan on medium heat.

    Once the Oil is hot, roast the
    Vermicelli till it turns light golden, stir continuously.

    Once done, remove to another pan to stop the cooking process. Keep aside.

    In the same pan, add the remaining Oil and heat on medium heat.

  5. 5

    Once hot, add in Mustard Seeds and allow them to pop.

  6. 6

    Add in Channa Daal and Peanuts and cook for 30 seconds

  7. 7

    Add in the Urad Daal and the Broken Cashew and cook until they turn golden brown

  8. 8

    Add in the Turmeric Powder and Mix well.

    Add in the Onions, Carrots & Peas, green Chillies and Ginger and Cook till the Onions turn translucent.

    Add in Salt and Water, cover the pan and allow the Water
    to come to a boil.

    Once it is boiling, open cover and add in the roasted vermicelli

  12. 12

    Give it a really good mix, lower heat, cover and cook for 6 minutes.

    Stir inbetween once.

    After 10 minutes, turn the flame off and allow it to sit covered for another 5 minutes.

    Open, fluff gently, garnish with Coriander leaves and serve hot.
