Ingredients

  1. 1/2 cuplight brown sugar
  2. 1/2 cupsugar
  3. 1/2 cupPeanut butter
  4. 1/4 cupshortening
  5. 1/4 cupmargarine or butter
  6. 1each egg
  7. 1 1/4flour
  8. 3/4 tspbaking soda
  9. 1/2 tspbaking powder
  10. 1/4 tspsalt

Cooking Instructions

    Mix sugars, peanut butter, shortening, margarine and egg in large bowl.

    Stir in other ingredients.

    Cover and refrigerate at least 3 hours but no longer than 24.

    Heat oven to 375°F.

    Shape dough into 1 -1/4 inch balls.

    Place about 3 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

    Flatten in crisscross pattern with fork dipped into sugar.

    Bake 9 to 10 minutes or until light brown.

    Cool slightly, remove from cookie sheet.
