I use my crockpot, but can do in the oven @ 350. Spray pan or crockpot with cooking spary.

Mix cream cheese, eggs and sugar. Add cornbread mix, butter,milk, cream of corn, frozen corn, salt, nutmeg. Mix all together, pour in pan or crockpot.

Crockpot- place a paper towel between lid and crockpot. 2-4 hrs on high. Cook in pan till it drowns. Crockpot- cook till it’s starts to pull away from the sides, the last 30mins remove lid to help it brown up or can just brown the top in the oven for 5-10 mins or so.

Crockpot- my crockpot I can place the dish in the oven, I used my smaller crockpot don’t use a big one, can use the casserole crockpot if you have one. This is what it looks like when you brown it in the oven.(also the only picture I have of this dish.)

Oh... my... goodness. This is good.I almost made French toast but I poured the egg and milk over the bread and cooked it in the oven instead. English toasting bread surely is the best bread to use, but I’m always looking for it and rarely find it. I can’t say this would be nearly as good with just any old bread. It’s so good that buttermilk is not in this recipe which is insane for me.My kids didn’t even ask for a drizzle of honey.

This is commonly referred to as "Cornmeal Mush" which is a completely unattractive name! A slight variation in the cooking/serving process and it's called "Polenta." Call it what you want, it's delicious, economical (aka cheap), and versital. The Cornmeal flavor compliments both sweet and savory and the possibilities are endless for building flavor layers. Add berries, preserves or sausage, ham, cheese.... you think it up and it's going to taste yummy. Hope you enjoy!

My Mom Babe taught me how to make cornbread. We closely followed the Alber's Cornmeal cornbread recipe adding more sugar, melting Crisco shortening instead of using cooking oil, and adjusting the flour and cornmeal measurements. I use more flour and less cormeal instead of 50/50 so the cornbread does not crumble apart as bad. This is a sweeter cornbread with a cake like texture. So good!

This is a recipe from Alex Guarnaschelli that I amend slightly due to my liking. My family would be ashamed of me because this is not exactly southern cornbread, but I like it kind of smooth (less crumbly) and what they don’t know won’t hurt them. The other sinful thing I like, which I would strongly suggest, is putting an obscene amount of buttermilk into this cornbread (more than the recipe calls for) and pulling it out of the oven early so the middle is still raw. It sounds crazy, but try it.
