Ingredients

  1. 1 cupcornmeal
  2. 1 cupflour
  3. 1 tspbaking powder
  4. 1 tspbaking soda
  5. 1/8 tspsalt
  6. 1/2 cmelted unsalted butter (I used plant based)
  7. 1/3 cupbrown sugar
  8. 2 tbshoney
  9. 1egg (room temp)
  10. 1 cupbuttermilk (room temperature)

Cooking Instructions

    Preheat oven to 350. Grease/lightly flour a square pan (8x8 or 9x9). Add cornmeal, flour, baking soda & paking powder into a large mixing bowl. Toss ingredients.

    Mix together melted butter, brown sugar & honey. Whisk then whisk egg. Then whisk in buttermilk. Pour wet into dry ingredients & whisk. Do not over mix.

    Pour batter into pan. Let bake 20 -25 minutes. Once done, wrap leftovers in aluminum foil.

Yes mam I make mine with milk instead also. Buttermilk is better with biscuits 😋
