Bread pudding. Every good cook should make it once, and then maybe just move on. It's been done to death and in every horrible form imaginable. But, it's a forgiving introduction to custard, and if you do it right, it's pretty tasty.

Ingredients

  1. 1 tbspButter
  2. 1/2 cupSugar
  3. 2 cupMilk
  4. 2 eachEgg
  5. 4 cupBread, diced

Cooking Instructions

    Preheat oven to 350°F.

    Gently melt together butter and sugar.

  3. 3

    Stir in milk.

  4. 4

    Whisk in the eggs.

  5. 5

    Place bread cubes in a baking dish. Pour egg goo over the top and Press down bread cubes to submerge and soak up the mixture.

    Bake for 30-45 minutes, or until set and golden brown on top.

This was the first time I've made bread pudding. It was a real life saver for me while my husband healed from wisdom teeth removal. We loved it! This recipe is easy and turns out wonderful.
