Cinnamon rolls

Cinnamon is used in Turkish cuisine for both sweet and savoury dishes. Cinnamon can also be used in pickling and in drinks such as eggnog. Cinnamon powder has long been an important spice in enhancing the flavour of Persian cuisine, used in a variety of thick soups, drinks, and sweets. Cinnamon has alluring aroma and flavour. One of its health benefits are; bacterial resistance and diabetes treatment.

Cooking Instructions

In a bowl, add warm water followed by yeast and allow to settle for 10sec. Add milk, sugar, flavour and egg then whisk together.

Add flour and stir very well, 1 cup at a time then knead until soft and not sticky. Finally add butter and knead again. Allow it to rise in a warm place covered for 15mins. Set the oven and baking pan after that.

After it has risen, spread the dough in a rectangular shape, spread the paste and roll, then cut into circular portions and set for baking.

Bake until golden Brown, serve hot or cool with tea or a drink. Toppings can be done with chocolate syrup, glaze or caramel.

These cinnamon rolls take a lot of work but are very worth it if you have the time. Notice the full pound of butter these rolls call for? They are the best I've ever had. Thick and chewy; sweet and cinnamon-y. I think the frosting is what makes these stand apart. I don't care for the cream cheese frosting found on so many recipes. These have lots of thick, fluffy frosting made from powdered sugar and it's hard to beat. Makes 2 dozen 4" rolls so invite friends and family.Mutus
