In a bowl cream butter and sugar until very light and fluffy.

In separate bowl break eggs and beat, add to butter sugar mixture, add vanilla essence, raisings and mix.

Sift flour and add 1 tablespoon baking powder and mix. Fold in flour into wet mixture and combine very well.

Preheat oven to 175 for 10 minutes, grease baking pans with butter scoop in cake batter, pop in oven and bake until it springs back when touch or comes out dry when toothpick is inserted. Enjoy with drink or tea of choice
