Sweet potato and chips chaat Sweet potato and chips chaat
Chaat is a bold and colourful snack that is a “must” have for iftar. It is made almost on daily basis with some variations.Chaat is a popular street food snack that combines the crunch of chips with bold flavours of chaat masala, fresh herbs, chutneys, vegetables, spices and lemon juice. The best thing is that it is easy to prepare and takes little time, which makes it ideal for a weekday when you are too exhausted to stand by a stove after a lengthy fast.A humble blend of sweet, tangy, and spicy flavours, this Sweet Potato and Chips Chaat, on the other hand, is different from the regular aloo channa chaat (Chickpeas and Potato Chaat). Here sweet potato replaces the regular boiled potatoes and there are no chickpeas either. This recipe is simple. Chop the boiled, peeled sweet potato and mix it with onion, cilantro and green chillies along with salt, chilli powder, cumin powder, chaat masala and lemon juice. Just combine everything and just before serving, crush chips and add. Enjoy! In this recipe, everything is balanced – sweetness of the sweet potato, faint pungency of chaat masala, and tanginess of lemon juice and crunch of chips. That’s the flavor pairing, you would absolutely love. This is a super quick, low-fat, nutritious snack to enjoy. Sarvat Hanif -

BBQ Baked Beans BBQ Baked Beans
We love a good grill-out, but not too fond of overly sweet - BBQ sauce laden mushy beans with no flavor. This recipe fit the bill. Use the beans you love - the mix of varieties is nice to look at too. kate -
Beef Stew with Red Beans and Potatoes Beef Stew with Red Beans and Potatoes
The origins of beans (Phaseolus spp.) are ancient, dating back to the dawn of time in Central America, particularly in Mexico, where they were cultivated as early as 5000 BC. These species arrived in Europe during the first ocean crossings and quickly found an ideal growing environment on the old continent, gradually replacing European bean crops belonging to the Vigna genus. From that moment on, beans began to conquer the palates and arable lands from Europe to the Far East, and over this five-century journey, a variety of beans developed, even very different from each other. This led to the red bean, which is simply a common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) characterized by a red skin of varying intensity, sometimes mottled. In Italy, we have many typical varieties of legumes, and among these, we can find at least two types of red-skinned beans, which are world-renowned excellences, such as the red bean of Lucca and the Lima bean. Mock Shiruko! With Kidney Beans Mock Shiruko! With Kidney Beans
I had some shiratamako anyway so I decided to make some instant shiruko out of kidney beans to go with it.Making anko from adzuki beans usually takes around a day so the flavour of this shiruko is a bit different. But on the other hand it has a less characteristic flavor that may be easier for shiruko novices to enjoy. This is mock shiruko so I only added a little bit of sugar.I blended my kidney beans in the food processor until they were still a little lumpy.
