This is my version of a recipe that a good friend shared with me and now this is one of the only ways my kids will eat green beans. They are delicious and super easy to make.

Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 1/2 lb.fresh green beans, washed and ends trimmed
  2. 2 tbsp.olive oil
  3. 3 clovesgarlic, minced
  4. 1/2 tsp.salt (or more, to taste)
  5. 1/2 tsp.oregano
  6. 1/4 tsp.pepper (or more, to taste)
  7. Splashred wine vinegar (or fresh lemon juice)

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Rinse and trim the green beans and throw them in a large pot. Add just enough water to cover them, then bring them to a boil over high heat. Once at a boil, lower the heat and let them simmer until they are as tender as you'd like them to be. Then drain them into a colander.

  2. 2

Add the olive oil to the pot. Once it's hot, add the garlic and cook and stir just until it's fragrant. Then add the green beans back to the pot with the seasonings and vinegar and toss to coat them evenly. Taste and add more seasonings or more vinegar to taste if needed. Then serve.

I love to bake and to try out new recipes! I'm always on the lookout for simple dinners for busy weeknights. A lot of the recipes I post on here are ones I've found on Pinterest or from different bloggers, and that I've tried and really enjoyed, but I always reference to where I got the recipe from in the recipe description and the pictures are my own. If there's no source listed, then it's a rare recipe that I came up with. I have two wonderful kids and I hope to pass on my love of cooking and baking to them.

Very nice. In many a restaurant kitchen, they start by pan frying them, then add the garlic, then immediately add a splash of white wine and then cover them to steam them. [Add the vinegar at the end] This cuts down the total cook time by more than half and you get that great taste (like yours) too. 😊
