Tofu with tomato sauce

when I was a kid, I was taught how to cook this (but w/o fish sauce). Sometimes we put in tempeh, other time tofu, and some other time chillies (the green or red ones that is not as spicy as bird eye chillies). Or even anchovies(my favorite). Basically I put whatever protein or veggies available. Lol! 😆
Normally I like the sauce to be spicy. But this time, I only have 4 pcs of bird eye chillies. So that's all I use in the recipe. Not spicy enough but good enough to make a good supper today😋

Chop garlic, shallot and chillies

Cut tomatoes into 4 part each.

This is the kind of tofu I use. I got it from 168 store.

Heat oil in a pan and then put in garlic and shallot. Keep stirring until it is fragrance

Add in tomatoes, fish sauce, mushroom Buollion, sugar and salt. Stir.

Add in water and then tofu. Mix well every once in a while until the flavor sipping in and tofu looks soft.

When all sides looks done, transfer to a bowl to serve. Best enjoyed while hot with freshly cooked rice (especially soft jasmine rice 😋)
