This is an Indian savoury pancake, is known as Chilla. It is made with chickpeas/gram or besan flour and not with ordinary flour, spices and fresh vegetables like beetroots, onions, spring onions, spinach, coriander, carrots, .... It is really easy to make it (just in 10-15 minutes) and easy to eat it .
This version of chilla is yummy and full of flavour due to having beetroots لبو/چغندر that are good source of vitamins and minerals. Besan flour آرد نخودچی is low in calories and high in protein, and good source of fibre and Iron.

Ingredients

3-4 servings
  1. 1 cupgram flour (besan flour)
  2. 3/4 cupoatmeal flour
  3. 2small cooked beetroots, finely grated or puréed
  4. 1/2 cupfresh coriander leaves,, finely chopped
  5. 1 tspolive oil
  6. 1 tspgarlic powder
  7. 1/2 tspturmeric
  8. 1 tspcumin
  9. to tasteSalt and pepper
  10. 450 mlWater

Cooking Instructions

    Ingredients

    In a bowl, add all ingredients but water in a big bowl and give a good stir and mix all ingredients well. Then pour in water and blend everything together until have a smooth batter with no lumps. The batter should not be thick or too runny, as you see in the photos.

    Add 1tbsp butter or vegetable oil to a pan. Pour one ladle of the batter into the pan and spread it like a pancake.
