This is a delicious, nutritious and easy to prepare snack that sure to please any pallet. There are Mediterranean version of this called Socca, but we prefer the Indian version which is jazzed up with spices. It is ideal for breakfast/evening snack.

Ingredients

3-4 people
  1. 2 cupsChickpea flour (besan/ garbanzo beans flour)
  2. 1/2 teaspoonpaprika
  3. 1/2 teaspoongaram masala
  4. 1/2 teaspoonblack pepper
  5. 1/4 teaspoonteaspoon turmeric
  6. 3 tablespoonsfinely chopped red onions
  7. 2 tablespoonscoriander leaves
  8. 2 tablespoonsfinely chopped tomatoes
  9. to taste Salt
  10. as required olive oil (vegan) / ghee for brushing

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Make a batter by mixing all the above ingredients in a mixing bowl. The consistency of the batter should be similar to dosa, crepes. Ensure that there are no flour lumps in the batter.

    Pour this batter on a medium-hot well-greased pan and cook on low flame till the chilla is cooked on both sides. Serve with coriander chutney.

    Serve and Enjoy.
