'CHUDA GHASA' is a traditional odia recipe offered as a prasad (bhog) on the occasion of Ganesh Puja, Saraswati Puja and some other pujas and festivals. This recipe is made of flattened rice (chuda/poha), sugar, ghee, scraped coconut, black pepper and cardamom. The main ingredient of this recipe is 'chuda' ( flattened rice). The word 'ghasa' ( rubbing) plays an important role in this recipe. The taste of the recipe increases the more and more you rub it with your palms. This is the specialty of this recipe.
