Ingredients

  • 1and 1/2 cups Rajma
  • 2medium onion chopped
  • 3medium tomatoes chopped
  • 1 inchchopped ginger
  • 6 clovesgarlic minced
  • 1green chili chopped
  • 1bay leaf
  • 4 cloves(laung)
  • 4black pepper
  • 2green cardamoms
  • 1black cardamom
  • 1/2 tspshahjeera
  • 1 tspcoriander powder
  • 1/2 tspChole masala
  • 1/2 tspchat masala
  • 1 tspKashmiri red chili powder
  • 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  • as per taste Salt
  • 1 tspcrushed Kasoori methi
  • 1/2garam masala power
  • 2 tbspcooking oil
  • 1 tbspclarified butter/ghee

    Soak the rajma in sufficient water overnight. Next morning clean and pressure cook.
    Let the cooker cool naturally. Mash the boiled rajma with a masher.

    In a pan heat 1 tbsp oil. Add shahjeera and let it splutter. Add all whole garam masala, bay leaf and cook in medium heat till aroma comes.
    Now add chopped onion, garlic ginger,green chili and tomatoes,salt and turmeric. Cook till soft and allow them to cool. Grind this to fine paste in a grinder.

    In the same wok heat rest cooking oil and ghee. Cook in low, medium heat till oil separates from masala.
    Now add rest dry masala and boiled rajma. Adjust salt and water for gravy. Cook 3m25 to 30 minuter with cover.
