Ingredients

  • FOR RICE:
  • 1 cupbasmati rice
  • 1 tspturmeric
  • 1/2 tspsalt
  • 1 tspoil
  • as neededwater to soak & boil
  • 1 tspcumin / jeera
  • FOR PULAO:
  • 1medium sized onion, sliced
  • 2 tspbutter
  • FOR PULAO:
  • 1carrot, chopped
  • 1 tspcumin / jeera
  • 2 tspbutter
  • 2 tbspcapsicum, chopped
  • 1medium sized onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsppeas
  • 1 tspginger garlic paste
  • 5beans, chopped
  • as per tasteSalt
  • 2 tbspcapsicum, chopped
  • 2tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsppav bhaji masala
  • 1/4 tspkashmiri red chilli powder
  • 2 tbspcoriander, finely chopped
  • 2tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsplemon juice

Steps

  1. 1

    Soak the basmati rice for 30 mins, then pressure cook it adding a tsp oil,salt,turmeric, water as required.

    In a kadai heat butter and cumin sauté until it turns aromat.

    Now add onion and ginger garlic paste. saute well.

  4. 4

    Keeping the flame on medium, add the veggies and salt.
    Stir-fry for 3 minutes or until vegetables are cooked slightly.

    Stir-fry for 3 minutes or until vegetables are cooked slightly.

    Now add 2 tomatoes and saute until the tomato turn soft and mushy.

    Furthermore add 2 tsp pav bhaji masala and ¼ tsp chilli powder.

    Saute until the oil is released from the masala paste.

    Now add in cooked rice.

    Mix gently without breaking rice.

    Add in 2 tbsp coriander and 1 tbsp lemon juice. Mix well.
    Finally, serve with raita.
