Ingredients

  1. Oil half cup
  2. Onion 2 big sized chopped
  3. 1 tspWhite zeera
  4. Turmeric Powder half tsp
  5. 2 tbspGinger garlic paste
  6. Salt as your taste
  7. 1 tbspRed Chilli crushed
  8. 2 tbspRed chilli Powder
  9. 1 tbspGaram Masala
  10. 2 tbspCoriander Powder
  11. 1 cupTomatoes chopped
  12. Water half cup
  13. Boiled Black Choley Half kg
  14. Garnish with Coriander leave

Steps

  1. 1

    Wash Black gram (Kalay choley) and soak for 4 hours or overnight in 3 cups of water. The kalay choley will increase in size when they are soaked.
    Drain the soaking water from kala chana. Add kala chana and 2 cups of fresh water to the pot.

    Cook until kala chana cook done completely.
    Method
    Take pot and let it heat. Add oil, add chopped onion. Saute until half done.
    Then add White zeera whole, ginger garlic paste & turmeric powder. Sauté for 2 minutes.

    Add Salt, Red chilli crushed, Red chilli powder, garam masala, coriander powder & chopped tomatoes. Stir and sauté until oil separate. Add water if require to cook spices. Saute 10 -15 mins.
    Then add kala chana. Stir well for a minute

  4. 4

    Garnish with coriander leave. Kala Chana is ready to be served with rice or roti.
