Cooking Instructions

Sauté the garlic in neutral oil for about a minute. Add in the potato and green beans and fry until half-cooked.

When the potatoes are cooked, season your soup with salt and pepper and do a final taste check. Then serve! :)

Miso Soup with Mushrooms Miso Soup with Mushrooms
When I used to live in the U.S. and didn't have access to Japanese mushrooms like shimeji and shiitake, I used mushrooms instead in miso soup. It's actually pretty tasty! Since then it's become one of my favorite dishes to make.Place the mushrooms in cold water (don't start boiling them with hot water) and simmer them very gently to extract their umami. If you are in a hurry, add a little dashi stock. Don't add too much miso since it will overwhelm the flavor of the mushrooms. Use plenty of mushrooms for the best result. For 3 servings. Shijimi Clam Miso Soup Shijimi Clam Miso Soup
I saw directions for preparing the clams on a television program.I always forget whether its shijimi clams or asari clams that have to be cooked from cold water so I uploaded this for my own reference.Just make sure to get the clams to release the toxins and sand. Anything that was alive at some point has something to release. If you'd like, I recommend using kombu as your dashi stock. Of course you can just use the dashi stock from the clams, but the collaboration of dashi stocks is delicious. Recipe by Tatakaukokkusan cookpad.japan -

Miso Ramen Soup Miso Ramen Soup
I love ramen and udon noodles, but here in the U.S. it's hard to get good fresh noodles, and since I'm trying to have a baby, instant noodles are a no-no... so I made this simple miso ramen soup.I buy dashi stock granules and blended miso at Mitsuwa, a Japanese supermarket chain in the U.S. Garlic burns easily, so saute over low heat. The soup is delicious with cilantro or ra-yu spicy oil. When I have this with my Japanese food loving husband, I add all kinds of things like meat-miso, soft set egg, or marinated egg, etc. For 1 serving. Recipe by Ochabisama cookpad.japan
