Prepare the equipment and ingredients according to the recipe.

Microwave the prepared butter for 30 seconds to melt it. Then, add the granulated sugar and brown sugar, and stir until the sugars dissolve.

Add the prepared egg and vanilla extract. Stir to combine.

Add the prepared flour and baking soda. Fold to combine, then add chocolate chips, raisins, or almonds as desired. Fold to combine.

Shape the dough into balls weighing about 20 grams each and arrange them on a baking sheet (mine aren't arranged perfectly).

Use a spoon to slightly flatten the cookie dough balls and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 12-15 minutes, or until the cookies are golden brown.
