Ingredients

16 Biscuits
  1. 2 1/4 CupsPlain AP Flour
  2. 2 TspGround Ginger
  3. 1 TspGround Nutmeg
  4. 1/2 TspGround Cloves
  5. 1/4 TspSalt
  6. 1 TspBaking Powder
  7. 115grCup Unsalted Butter (soft)
  8. 1 CupWhite Sugar
  9. 1/2 CupSoft Brown Sugar
  10. 1 TbspBlack treacle (Can use Molasses)
  11. 1Large Egg
  12. 1 TblsCold Water
  13. 3-4 TblsSugar for Coating

Cooking Instructions

    Preheat oven to 220 degrees C. Sift together the flour, ginger, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves, and salt.

    In a large bowl, cream together the Butter and Both sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg, then stir in the water and treacle. Gradually stir the sifted ingredients into the molasses mixture. Shape dough into small sized balls - About 1.5 Tsps full. Roll them in the remaining sugar. Place the cookies 2 inches apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet, and flatten slightly.

    Bake for 8 minutes in the preheated oven. Then Turn around the tray and bake for another 4 mins until nice and brown. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.

Well I started with Cookpad during Covid....... Guess alot of us did, Amazing Site great to share with passitionate people. I have no formal training but have eaten in some of the best fine dinning restraunts in the world and also learnt from My mum and Grandma with "a pinch of" and "about a handfull" - if we share we love.
