Filter Tea

I wanted to look at an option where I wanted to prepare tea instantly without having to buy tea bags. Hence, the simple solution was filter tea; just like filter coffee! The ingredients can be altered to suit your taste. The idea remains the same anyhow.

Cooking Instructions
- 1
In a blender, dry grind ginger, elaichi, nutmeg powder, star anise, clove and fennel seeds. Grind them all well.
- 2
Transfer this mixture to a South indian coffee filter and add tea. Now add 1 cup of boiling water to the filter over the powders and tea.
- 3
Once the decoction is collected in the bottom half of the filter; pour the remaining water into the filter and let it drip down again. Once 2 cups have emptied; store the decoction and make tea with it.
- 4
To make tea, boil milk/water and add the decoction as per your required strength; mix in sweetener of choice and enjoy hot/cold.

Cold-Brewed Tea Cold-Brewed Tea
Yes! The answer to your question, when there is cold-brewed coffee, there is also cold-brewed tea. Very much like cold brewing coffee, the process reduces the tannins from releasing into your tea. In other words, less bitterness and astringent flavor comparing to when brewing coffee or tea hot.I made 2 separate cold-brewed tea: a combination of green tea, lemon and blueberries, green tea and oranges. You can use red tea, earl grey, or a combination of different types of tea. As for the fruits, I would recommend citrus and berries. I am not sure about apples, pears, or stone fruits tho. But I am sure they are worth exploring and experimenting with.If you are intrigued, you can also add in some spices to your preference as well. Cinnamon, ginger, allspice, etc. The possibilities are endless. This just amps up a whole new level of tea-drinking experience! I really hope you will give this recipe a try and start cold brewing. No-Waste Powdered Tea! No-Waste Powdered Tea!
A friend of mine heard that if you turn tea leaves into powder, you can make a huge amount of tea from it. It sounded like it would be good for you, too, so I tried making it.If you keep the blender running continuously, the motor will heat up. Be sure to stop it from time to time. The tea leaves turn very fine and become much more fragrant. To make tea with a tiny amount of the powdered tea leaves, mix very well after adding the powder to hot or cold water. Recipe by Myuu samada cookpad.japan -

Sun Tea Sun Tea
As a child growing up in the rural south, this was a staple in nearly every household. I remember walking to the local mom and pop grocery with my mother and asking to purchase a gallon pickled bologna jar. Mom kept that old jar for years, replacing the lid occasionally because the old one had gotten too rusty during the colder months. This is a tradition I have faithfully kept up over the years, I suppose out of nostalgia, but also because sun tea is just hard to beat! joshedgewood -

How to Brew Green Tea How to Brew Green Tea
I actually used to be really bad at brewing tea. It was usually too strong or too bitter, but I learned how to brew tea properly at the store where I work, and it was a revelation!!This is how they do it at the restaurant where I work. If you are from a tea growing area, or you have studied tea ceremony procedures, you may think it's blasphemous! Please forgive me. But the tea that is brewed this way has a beautiful color, and is delicious and and not bitter at all. Plus, it doesn't get too diluted even if you add ice. Recipe by Tomonchicchi cookpad.japan -
Homemade Black Tea Liqueur Homemade Black Tea Liqueur
Since Kahlua Milk exists, I thought that a tea version should work too! I wanted to try it, but around these parts they only sell tea liqueur in big bottles and it's expensive. I had some white liquor left over from making fruit liqueurs, so I sort of winged it to use up leftovers, but the results were pretty tasty.I recommend using Earl Grey tea, but other flavors should work too. You can use tea bags too, in which case, use about 3 bags. Rock sugar crystals, raw cane sugar or beet sugar should work too. 30 g is not that sweet, but the resulting liqueur is easy to use. If you are going to use the liqueur in cocktails, use up to 50 g of sugar, but it will be rather sweet. The alcohol content is quite high, so be careful not to drink too much. Try it as a flavoring in baked goods. Recipe by Minori105 cookpad.japan
