This is a old traditional bengali recipe where baby potatoes are steamed by wrapping it in banana leaf. Generally baby potato are used but at this time Good baby potatoes were not available so I have used normal potatoes. This bhapa is a bit different from the other as it has panchforn (five spices)in it with mustard oil

Firstpeal the potatoes cut the normal potatoes into four half. Par boil them. Keep it aside. Now dry roast the dry red Chile and panchforn. Put this on the potatoes. Take the banana leaf wash it pat it dry and then roll it over fire so that it becomes soft.

Now in a bowl add the hung curd, mustard paste, coconut and green Chile paste. Add salt, sugar and turmeric powder. Add the mustard oil and mix them well. Coriander leaves Now take a covered steel container. Put the mixture into the banana leaf and cover it. Put the same in the container. Cover it tight.

Now in a pan add water, place a stand and then place that container. Cover the pan and let it cook in the steam for at least 20-25 min. In low flame. Serve it with hot steamed rice
