Ingredients

  1. 4MEDIUM SIZED aloo (boiled)
  2. 1 tbspoil
  3. 1 tspjeera
  4. 1dry red chili
  5. 1 tbspGinger-garlic finely chopped
  6. 2 tbsproasted peanuts
  7. 1 tspjeera powder
  8. 1 1/2 tspsalt /as required
  9. for making besan batter
  10. 1 cupbesan
  11. 1 pinchbaking soda
  12. 1 tspsalt /add as required
  13. as requiredwater
  14. Others
  15. sheetPlastic
  16. 350 mloil for frying

Steps

  1. 1

    Put the mashed potatoes in a big bowl. (Mash the potatoes as soon as you take it out of the cooker)

    Now heat 1 tbsp oil in a kadhai. Add jeera, then dry red chili. After few seconds take out the chili and add ginger-garlic.

    Now add roasted peanuts. Stir for 1 min. Add jeera powder and salt. Now mix this with mashed potatoes.
    Let this potato dough cool down at room temperature.

    Make small balls from the potato dough. Keep aside.

    Make besan batter in a mixing bowl by taking besan, baking soda, salt and water(as required) (mix the water in small quantities). The batter should not be too flowy or too thick.

    Heat oil for frying in a kadai.
    Meanwhile take a small ball made out of dough and place it on the plastic sheet. Now fold the plastic sheet in such a way that the dough ball is in between the plastic sheet.

    Press the ball with your palm to make it flat. And now slowly take it out.

    Dip it in the besan batter and coat it well with the batter.

    Now gently slid or place the batter coated aloor chop in the hot oil.
    Fry the aloor chops on medium-low flame.

    Let both the sides to get golden brown (may take 7-8 mins) then remove them with a slotted spoon. This way fry the remaining aloor chops.

    Serve aloor chop with moori/ garam garam cha/ sliced onion.
