Cooked spinach seasoned with sweet sesame sauce
I have liked this dish a lot since I was a little girl😉. It’s very easy yet very tasty 😋
Cooking Instructions
- 1
In a large pot, put spinach into the boiling water for 2 minutes.
- 2
While spinach is boiling, grind sesame in a mortar(suribachi) with pestle(surikogi)for 2 minutes. Don’t be lazy, grind it well into a paste 😊
- 3
Add sugar and soy sauce into the sesame paste
- 4
Strain the spinach and let it cool down. After it cools, squeeze some of the water from the spinach. Don’t squeeze all of it though! You want to keep the nutrients and the juicy flavor but not have it too watery.
- 5
Cut squeezed spinach into 2 inch sections so it is easy to eat.
- 6
Mix in the sesame sauce well with the spinach and enjoy ❤️. Healthy and happy 💪

Swiss Chard With Sesame Sauce Swiss Chard With Sesame Sauce
I once saw Swiss chard used in a TV cooking show overseas a long time ago.I happened to find it at a supermarket in Tokyo and bought it on impulse, although I'd never eaten it. It said on the package that it wasn't bitter and was good for salad, but the first time I bought it, the stems were a bit thick, so I ended up blanching it and coating it with sesame sauce. I really liked the texture and I've been making it this way ever since.Sesame seeds are best freshly toasted, so either re-toast or microwave them before using. This recipe uses enzyme juice instead of sugar. I recommend kumquat or plum enzyme juice.Enzyme juice from wild plants or grains are not suitable for cooking. Recipe by caterina cookpad.japan -
