Take a bowl and add besan, salt red chilli powder, cumin seeds and oil and mix well, add a little water and knead a tight dough.

Now take some dough and make thin long strips one by one

Now in a vessel add water and bring it to boil, add little oil, add the dough strips and steam for 15 minutes.

Switch off the gas and let it cool. Take out the steamed strips and cut into round pieces. Keep aside.

Now peel and wash onions and cut length wise, chop tomatoes roughly.

In a pan add oil and heat it, add chopped onions and cook till golden brown, add ginger garlic paste and chopped tomatoes, add above-mentioned spices and mix well and cook till tomatoes are tender, add water and further cook for 5 minutes

Now let the mixture cool and blend it with blender,

Again in a pan add little oil and put the puréed paste and cook till the mixture leaves the sides of pan,

Add the steamed gattas and cook for 1-2 mints, add water as required for the gravy, further cook till the gravy thickens.

Add crushed kasuri methi and serve hot with rice or chapati.
