Wash the dal twice and drain the water. Pour 2 cup water into cooker. Add the mixed dal and salt. Stir once. Close cooker. Bring to full pressure on high heat. Reduce heat and cook for 3 minutes. Allow to cool. Open the lid and mash the dal.

Heat 1 tbsp ghee. Fry 1 bay leaf, slit green chilly, cumin seeds, cloves, cinnamon stick and green cardamom. Saute it for few minutes. Then add prepared masala. Fry for few minutes.

Add dal. Mix...properly. Add salt, mango powder, tamarind pulp and a pinch of sugar. I have used sugar because their will be sweet and sour taste. Mix......properly and cook till it is thick in consistency. It is upto you. If you want dal in thin cosistency then add water as needed. Once it is done.

Transfer to a kadai and garnish with chopped corainder leaves. Immediately serve hot............mix...dal with chapapati and nan.................
