Bottlegourd Lauki Dudhi Tadka with Nigella seeds kalonji

This is an innovative ideas of mine , when I purchased a young bottlegourd/Lauki. Young ones in our family don't like to eat lauki , knowingly. I used to make lauki kofta , Uttapam , Pizza for them , so that they were not able to find out. For this lauki and kalonji/nigella seeds subzi also it was difficult from them to find out .
I have taken a lauki with less developed seeds. The was delicious, aromatic and tasteful. One can have this recipe with roti/steamed rice.

Arrange the ingredients.

Take chopped bottlegourd, potato, tomatoes. Pressure cook with turmeric, salt and a cup of water for a whistle. Set aside to cool naturally.

Heat oil and ghee in a kadhai. Add the bay leaf and fry for some seconds.

Then add nigella seeds and red dry chilli. Allow nigella seeds to splutter.

Add chopped onions and green chilli and fry till the raw smell of onion is gone.

Add red chilli powder and fry for half a minute.

Mix the boiled bottlegourd with the nigella tadka. Allow to boil for two minutes.

Garnish with chopped green coriander and serve hot in breakfast/ lunch.
