Cooking Instructions
- 1
Add the cream to the bowl of a stand mixer. Turn to medium high.
- 2
Continue mixing until the butter separates from the buttermilk, about 3-10 minutes. (pic is of the butter starting and separating from the buttermilk its just about done when it looks like this)
- 3
Drain the buttermilk and refrigerate for later. Use the buttermilk for buttermilk biscuits or pancakes.
- 4
Wash the butter by squeezing and kneading it under running water to release the remaining buttermilk. Keep washing the butter until the water is clear, about 5 minutes.(I use my kitchen aid after I remove the buttermilk I add in cold water and mix them remove water and repeat until water is clear and not cloudy, I find it easier that way)
- 5
Optional: Add salt to taste. Begin by adding 1 teaspoon of kosher salt to the butter and mix well. Taste and add more if desired.
- 6
Store the butter in a sealed container in the refrigerator for 2-3 weeks. For longer storage, freeze for up to three months.
- 7
This recipe makes about 1 pound of butter and roughly 2 cups of buttermilk.

Notes- I was very skeptical my first time so I used a small container of heavy whipping cream to start with, just to see how it would work and taste then I moved up to more. A splash guard is recommended when the fat starts to separate and you start to get buttermilk it will go all over the place if you don’t have one you can use a hand towel and place over the bowl and mixer also do this as you’re rinsing the butter, it helps.

On the last step be sure you squeeze out all the buttermilk liquid from the butter before putting it in a sealed container.

How to Preserve Butter How to Preserve Butter
Perhaps this is commonly done, but I thought I should share this with those of you who didn't know this tip, since my friend told me it was a great idea.Right after purchasing the butter, it will be soft, making it hard to cut, so chill it well in the refrigerator before cutting!!The large pats of butter are about 10 g, and the small pats are about 5 g; keeping that in mind when baking sweets, since it's okay to be approximate, you won't have to measure it out. Whipped Butter Whipped Butter
My friend shared me this recipe. Try this butter with pancakes or French toast as it has such a smooth and light texture that goes great with maple syrup or jam.I suggest using a large deep bowl when mixing the butter. Otherwise, it splatters when you add the milk.In Step 3, this incorporates air and makes for a fluffy finish. Recipe by Hoink cookpad.japan -
How To Make Nutella How To Make Nutella
I admit that I was once obsessed with Nutella. I know it is very unhealthy even tho me and my daughters love it. We spread on toast almost every morning. It came to the point when I realized how much sugar were used to make a jar of Nutella. You can see the image below (from Google). I decided to do the right thing and ban Nutella in my household. It is frightening the ratio between chocolate and hazelnuts to the amount of oil and sugar. By educating myself and my daughters, we made up our minds that we would rather make our own Nutella from scratch. It is really simple and quite cost-effective too. All we need is a food processor and no more than 7 natural ingredients. It also takes about less than 45 mins to put everything together. Yes, we do not use any sugar. We used pure honey instead; you can use any other natural sweeteners if desired. Maple syrup works really well too.Do not expect the same sugary explosion, you are not gonna get it here. It is also not as glossy and smooth as compared to Nutella. You will need a conche to create that shine and texture. Maybe in the future, if I can afford, I will invest in 1 so I can show you lovely people how it is done. In the meantime, let's get started with the recipe. Daniel Lim -

Simple Stand Mixer Butter (small batch) Simple Stand Mixer Butter (small batch)
So, I wanted to try my hand at making butter, but all recipes I was finding called for using a food processor and I don't have one right now.I found a recipe using a stand mixer on the Epicurious website, but it called for 6 cups cream (and various other ingredients). So I decided to scale it down and simplify it so a) I didn't waste an unnecessary amount of cream if I screwed it up and b) I was adding only what I wanted without all the fancy stuff they thought they needed. If you increase the quantity of cream I highly suggest their recommendation of enclosing the opening of your mixer with plastic wrap even if you have a splash guard in place. The liquid really splashes out crazy-like. Lol. Just wrap it as best you can around the mixer, bowl, and all. Do this after adding the salt. 😉There is also an added bonus in making your own butter. You also end up with buttermilk (this is the liquid that separates from the solids). Now, it's not what you're used to seeing in the store, but you can definitely save it for another use.
