This is the strawberry jam that my mom often made when I was a kid. The sound of it simmering on the stove and the smell really take me back.

Adjust the amount of the sugar to taste. I use light brown sugar. Recipe by Cocorie

Ingredients

  1. 2punnets Strawberries
  2. 100 gramsSugar
  3. 2 tbspLemon juice

Cooking Instructions

    Hull the strawberries and wash under cold water.

  2. 2

    Put the strawberries and sugar in a pot and cook over a low heat.

  3. 3

    When the liquid cooks out of the strawberries, raise the heat to high and skim off any scum that floats to the surface. Return the heat to low and cook for about 10 minutes.

    Turn off the heat and squeeze in the lemon juice.

  5. 5

    This is the same recipe made with American black cherries.
