Ingredients

30 minutes
4 persons
  • 1/2 kgBoneless chicken (cubes)
  • 1Onion (large)
  • 4Tomato (blanched,medium)
  • 5-6Garlic cloves
  • 1-2Green chillies
  • Ginger 1 inch piece
  • Red chilli powder to taste
  • 1/2 tspTurmeric powder
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1 tspCoriander powder
  • 1/2 tspCumin seeds (roasted and crushed)
  • 1/2 tspMustard seeds/powder
  • 1/2 tspNigella seeds
  • 2 tbspTamarind pulp
  • Water as required
  • 1/4 cupCooking oil
  • 1-2 tbspFresh coriander (chopped)

Steps

30 minutes
  1. 1

    Remove the skin of blanched tomatoes. In a blender, add onion, tomato, garlic cloves, ginger and green chillies and blend to make smooth mixture.

  2. 2

    Heat the oil and cook this mixture well. Add chicken and cook until it changes colour.

  3. 3

    Add all other spices and cook until oil separates. Then add water and let it cook to tenderize the chicken.

  4. 4

    Add tamarind pulp and cook for more 5 minutes. Garnish with fresh coriander. Serve it with roti or naan.
