Stuffed Peppers with Rice and Ground Beef (Nasi Mahsi, an Arab Specialty)

I made this because a friend who worked in Arabia once gave me this dish to try. It turned out to be delicious, and I got hooked. I finally asked for the recipe, and thankfully, it was a success and easy to make.

Wash the rice thoroughly, then soak for about 1 hour. After soaking, drain the rice. Prepare the bell peppers by removing the seeds as shown in the picture.

Prepare the spices and slice all of them.

Heat a pan and sauté the shallots, garlic, and onion until fragrant. Add the ground beef and cook until it changes color. Then add the tomato and green onions, mix well, and add salt, bouillon, ground cumin, ground turmeric, and black pepper. Stir well.

Once the beef is well mixed with the spices, add the rice and mix well. Add tomato sauce and water, stir well, let it sit for a while to soften the rice, then stir again and turn off the heat.

Prepare the bell peppers with the seeds removed, then fill them with the cooked rice and ground beef mixture until full.

In a large pot, sauté the shallots and garlic until fragrant, then add the tomatoes and stir. Add tomato sauce and stir, then add boiling water until the peppers are submerged. Add bouillon and salt, then taste the sauce.

Place the stuffed peppers in the pot, cover, and cook on low heat until the water reduces slightly, then turn off the heat.

Once cooked, remove and serve. Enjoy and hope it's beneficial!
