Dongpo Pork Pressure-Cooked with Aromatic Star Anise

I was selected to be a taste tester for Mizkan grain vinegar. I decided to make a sweet and refreshing version of one of our family's favorite recipes, Dongpo Pork using star anise, which goes well with vinegar. I used ingredient amounts that are easy to remember.
Don't skip Step 1 where you sear the pork seals in the umami flavor.
The flavoring is on the sweet side, so during Step 7 you can adjust amount of soy sauce and sugar to your liking.
I like the eggs soft set, so I boil them separately. The boiled eggs will become flavored when you add them at Step 7. Recipe by Youtank

Briefly rinse the pressure cooker. Put the pork, the "A" ingredients, and the star anise in the pressure cooker. Secure the lid and again heat over high heat until the indicator pin pops up. Then turn the heat down to low and cook for 10-15 minutes.

I had a 10 cm slab of pork belly sleeping in my freezer, so I simmered it with daikon radish.I wanted to eat big chunks of daikon radish, so that's why they are big.Peel the daikon radish. You can use the thick peels of daikon that you slice off in delicious kinpira. You drizzle with soy sauce at the end for the finishing touch, so I've added it sparingly at the beginning. Taste and adjust as needed. The flavors will become concentrated when the liquid is reduced, so be careful. For 2 servings. Recipe by Totoro's kitchen cookpad.japan -

Suan Ni Bai Rou (Boiled Sliced Pork with Garlic Sauce) Suan Ni Bai Rou (Boiled Sliced Pork with Garlic Sauce)
Suan Ni Bai Rou can be translated loosely as "white meat with grated garlic"; suan ni means grated garlic and bai rou is white meat. Don't be fooled by how complex and fancy this dish is usually presented. It's actually very simple to make. The key is to boil the pork with rice wine, ginger, and star anise until tender and juicy with no porky smell. The main ingredient is pork belly, and served with a few veggie options such as cucumber and tomato. The choice of meat cut for the sliced pork with garlic sauce is usually pork belly. If you want to use something leaner, you can use pork shoulder. However, keep in mind that the meat texture will be firmer after being boiled than the pork belly. With the pork belly, you can even slice off the skin before boiling if you don't like it. I found that the skin adds texture to the meat.Youtube video: https://youtu.be/z1anMjuuhlE Julie - Mrs. Lin's Kitchen -
