I usually buy frozen naan at an Indian grocery store, but I wanted to easily whip up a fresh batch so I made these.

Ingredients

8 servings
  1. 300 gramsBread (strong) flour
  2. 3 gramsDry yeast
  3. 3 tbspSugar
  4. 1 tspSalt
  5. 150 mlplus Water, heated to about 40℃
  6. 1 dashOil

Steps

    In a bowl, mix the bread flour, dry yeast, sugar, and salt.

    Slowly add the warm water and knead. It'll come together and the surface will become springy to the touch.

  3. 3

    Once the dough comes together, thinly coat the same bowl with oil, and settle the dough in it. Wrap the bowl with plastic wrap to prevent drying, and let rise.

    Let rise until the dough has doubled in size. During the winter, place the dough near a heat source, and let rise for an hour.

    Once it has expanded, take out of the bowl, and punch down. Gently flatten, then fold in the flaps to form a triangle, to create a round ball.

    Let rest for 10 minutes. If you're strapped for time, you can omit this step.

    Flatten the dough and divide into 8 portions. Roll out with a rolling pin.

    Cook on a frying pan and they're done. Heat oil in the pan and wipe with paper towels to thinly coat.
