My son wanted this for his dinner so I said he had to make it himself. Here is his simple macaroni cheese sauce. This child doesn’t have intolerances so we made the classic version.
Steps
- 1
Put your macaroni on to boil.
- 2
Melt the marg in a saucepan then stir in enough flour to make a thick paste (a roux).
- 3
Add in the milk a little bit at a time, stirring constantly to prevent lumps from forming. Bring the sauce to a boil, stirring all the time.
- 4
You may want to add more of less milk depending on how thick you like your sauce. Add your grated cheese and season to taste with salt, pepper and a pinch of nutmeg.
