Ingredients

2-3 people
  • 2katori rice
  • 1large carrot
  • Beans (waitrose pack of 3 amount - maybe a fist full)
  • 1-2 teaspoonsjeera
  • 1 pinchheeng
  • 1tej patta
  • 2 cloves(Hindi long)
  • 1/2 teaspoonhaldi
  • 1-1.5 teaspoonsred chilli powder
  • to taste Salt (quite a lot)

Steps

  1. 1

    Soak rice for 15 mins

  2. 2

    Cut beans and carrots into small cube like pieces

    In a pressure cooker, add 3 tablespoons oil, zeera, heeng, long and tez patta and fry for a few mins until zeera cooks

    Add beans and carrots and toss for a bit

    Add salt, mirchi and haldi

  6. 6

    Add rice and 2 cups of water (1 per cut of rice) and an addition 1/4-1/2 more

    Mix well and taste for salt and chilli

  8. 8

    Pressure cook for 1 whistle (approx 10 mins)
