Soak the dals for 4-5 hours. Drain off the water. Grind the dals with green chilli and ginger. Make a smooth paste.

In a large bowl mix the dal with salt and hing. Whisk for five minutes. Make a soft and thick batter.

In a karahi heat oil for frying. Fry the vadas in medium heat till golden in colour. Now take it out from karahi.

In a bowl take warm water. Add salt. Mix well. Put the vadas in it for 20 minutes.

In another bowl take thick curd. Add sugar and salt. Whisk well. Make a smooth consistency.

After 20 minutes slightly squeeze the water from vadas. Now transfer them to a serving plate. Pour thick sweet curd. Then add green chutney and tamarind chutney. Garnish with chilli powder, roasted cumin powder, chaat masala, sev and pomegranate seed.
